Health Screenings
These are the screenings offered at Dele-Michael Medicine. Based on your conditions Dr. Abiola Dele-Michael can suggest you a screening that can be accessed in the office itself.
An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat.
Blood pressure is the force of your blood moving through your blood vessels, your heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute.
This is a numerical value of your weight in relation to your height. A BMI between 18.5 and 25 kg/m² indicates a normal weight. A BMI of less than 18.5 kg/m² is considered underweight. A BMI between 25 kg/m² and 29.9 kg/m² is considered overweight. A BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher is considered obese. Waist circumference is the distance around your natural waist (at the iliac crest – or hip bone). If your BMI is between 25-35 kg/m2, your goal for waist circumference is less than 40 inches if you’re a man and less than 35 inches if you’re a woman.
- A standard lipid profile is performed to determine cholesterol levels. The test includes total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and triglycerides.
- Blood sugar is measured by the fasting blood glucose and HbA1C test (A1C or glycosylated hemoglobin test)
